Product Ideas

Product Ideas is another structured information format that allows us to track an item from ideation to delivery (or discard). It’s essentially a list on the team collaboration space that captures product ideas in various sizes and maturity levels, reflecting our understanding of the solution space and relevant user needs. This format also serves as a tool for Product Leaders to regularly assess information, prioritize based on the relative business value and share its status transparently with the team and stakeholders. It helps Product Managers/Owners keep product backlogs cleaner by preventing premature inclusion of ideas in the early stages of development.

Here’s what gets included in the Product Ideas list::

  • Feedback during Show and Tells and other Agile events
  • Product capability or improvement suggestions from team members, stakeholders, and users/customers
  • Product ideas or suggestions from fellow Product Leaders or other team members
  • Product ideas or suggestions from senior leaders in the organization
