Quarterly Demo and Review

The Quarterly Demo and Review event is held towards the end of the quarterly iteration. It’s an event where the product family teams demonstrate what they’ve achieved and what they’ve learned against the quarterly objectives. This is also an opportunity for the teams to showcase their work to senior stakeholders who may not attend more frequent Show and Tells.

Addressing Unmet Objectives

If any objectives haven’t been achieved, the team should assess the reasons why and its potential impact. As explained in the Quarterly Planning: Aligning Teams for Success guidance, this could involve the whole product family (up to 5-6 teams) or a single team.

Feedback and Adaptation

During or after the demo, other product family teams and stakeholders can ask questions and share feedback. This allows the team to adapt their work for the next quarter’s objectives.

Strategic Objective Review

Following the Quarterly Demo and Review, product leadership needs to revisit strategic objectives:

  • Have any strategic objectives already been achieved?
  • Based on the quarterly iteration outcome and review feedback, do any Strategic Objectives need updating/changing?
  • Based on the feedback, do any new Strategic Objectives need to be added?

This exercise iteratively informs the Product Roadmap and helps teams define next quarter objectives and team roadmaps.

  • Duration: Between 1 and 4 hours (depending on the number of participating teams)
